Red Ribbon Week October 23-31


Every October, students, staff and school administrators participate in a week long initiative to raise drug awareness and prevention. National Red Ribbon Week is made possible by the National Family Partnership, which organized the first Nationwide Red Ribbon Campaign. Since 1985, the Red Ribbon has made a profound impact on millions of people. Parents and youth in communities across the country began wearing Red Ribbons as a symbol of their commitment to raise awareness of the detrimental effects of drugs in America. Today, the red ribbon serves as a catalyst to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities.
