The Lockport Area Special Education Cooperative is governed by a Board of Directors made up of superintendents of the five member school districts. Currently Chaney-Monge District 88 serves as the administrative agent for the cooperative. The Board is made up of the following individuals:

Lockport Area Special Education Cooperative (LASEC) conducts regular Board of Director meetings on the second Wednesday of the month at 9:00 am in the LASEC Board Room.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that nearly 1% of children in the U.S. have some form of autism, a nearly 20-fold increase from the 1980s. Researchers, who attribute much of the rise to public awareness and a broader meaning of the disorder, continue to seek insight into possible causes and treatments.
