The Primary (K-8) program is currently located in several locations, depending on grade levels. The Communication Disorder (CD) Program currently serves children in grades K-8 who have speech and language deficits that interfere with their educational achievement in the general education setting and which cannot be appropriately addressed by a resource program or other instructional programs. The children in the program have cognitive potential in the average to above average range and work on a modified general education curriculum. Staffing of the program consists of a full-time Special Education Teacher, Speech/Language Pathologist (40-50% of the time) and Classroom Assistant. The overall goal of the CD program is for each child to develop his/her speech /language abilities consistent with other skill areas, so that he/she can be successful in the general education setting.
